OK, I don’t know where to start. When the demo leaked of “Girls” i was horrified. 1) that track is already a huge song by Major Lazer so why use it again for a 1st single of an album and not a remix!? 2) why is she doing so much!? this song reminds of ‘Deja Vu’ and ‘Ring the Alarm’ Beyonce that didn’t do as well. It’s a lot of yelling.

Now, the actual version of the song is better than the demo because it’s mixed and what not, and I don’t hate it. I just so badly wanted her to come out with something and crush everybody!! I’m sure this song will grow on me. It’s not awful.

I just don’t get the point to the song. Why come out with that? How does that further the name, Beyonce? Does that make you want to buy her album? Cos it kinda scares the Sh**t out of me if her entire album is in that lane. ok, anyway, I tend to over analyze. I guess the song is there for you to dance & it’s does that job well. till next timeeee!!!

+ Haha well get ready for it. So yesterday Kevin and I were debating over this song, because I liked it right away. Now I used to be the biggest hater, and a year ago I would’ve hated this, but the music scene has changed drastically over the last 20 years. Which is why my opinion of music has shifted.

With that said, this is exactly what I expected from Beyonce. Her dance records are always like this, weird, and slightly off. It works though! I don’t know who produced this, but I feel like whoever sampled Major Lazer, heard that record and said those snares sound like a Beyonce record! What made me instantly like it was that I knew It was going to be fresh when i heard it on the radio intermixed with every other record. And I know when she does this on her first award show, Kevin will call me and say, “Oh ok her performance made me love it now!” Also don’t forget that she will probably follow this up with a great ballad!

++ ok fine, I think you’re right. I just wish I could look at it objectively and like it because it’s a good song and not because her performance or video made me like it. But at the end of the day I effin love me some B. I think she can do whatever she wants and people like us will sit here and talk about it and but it regardless. She wins. -kev
